FFE Appoints Steven Brown as Senior Business Lending Manager

Steven Brown | Finance For Enterprise

Finance For Enterprise (FFE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Steven Brown as our new Senior Business Lending Manager, further strengthening the our commitment to supporting underserved SMEs across the UK.

Steven brings with him over 26 years of banking experience, including two decades dedicated to the SME sector. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively as both a Relationship Manager and Business Development Manager, helping businesses navigate their financial needs and secure commercial lending facilities. He has also successfully led teams of Business Development Managers, demonstrating strong leadership within the commercial finance space.

Most recently, Steven owned and operated a directly FCA-authorised commercial finance brokerage for eight years, providing tailored funding solutions to businesses. His earlier career included obtaining key banking qualifications that laid the foundation for his long-standing success in the industry.

In his new role at Finance For Enterprise, Steven will focus on arranging commercial loan facilities for underserved SMEs, helping to bridge funding gaps with a more personalised, relationship-led approach.

Commenting on his appointment, Steven said “I was looking for something new in the commercial lending space but didn’t want to return to a mainstream high street bank. I already knew several members of the FFE team from previous roles, and they spoke highly of the organisation. What really attracted me was FFE’s ability to offer SME lending through a process that retains the human touch, rather than relying solely on algorithm-based decisions.”

Andrew Austwick, Managing Director at Finance For Enterprise, added “We are delighted to welcome Steven to the team. His extensive experience in SME banking and commercial finance, combined with his deep understanding of the challenges businesses face when accessing funding, makes him an excellent fit for FFE. Steven shares our commitment to delivering a personal, relationship-led service, and we are confident he will play a key role in supporting more SMEs to access the finance they need to grow.”

Outside of work, Steven is a passionate supporter of Sheffield United, an avid golfer and member of Worksop Golf Club, and an active runner who trains several times a week with his local running club. He is also currently learning to play the guitar.Finance for Enterprise welcomes Steven to the team and looks forward to the expertise and energy he will bring in supporting SME growth
