Finance For Enterprise (FFE) has provided a £200,000 loan to help entrepreneurs Aidan Wright and Stephen Crawford acquire West Street Garage (Normanton), securing the future of a much-loved local business that has been serving the community for more than 30 years.
Founded in 1993 by brothers Duncan and Gary, West Street Garage has grown into one of Normanton’s most trusted independent vehicle repair and servicing centres. Over the past three decades, the business has built a loyal customer base of more than 5,500 local motorists, while working closely with other local service providers to support the wider community.
The acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for the garage. Aidan and Stephen, who bring extensive experience from the domestic automotive sector, commercial servicing and road network support services, plan to build on the company’s strong foundations by introducing new technologies, services, and facilities, as well as the recruitment of new technicians and apprentices.
The deal was supported with a £200,000 loan from Finance For Enterprise, alongside a personal investment from the new owners. The funding enabled the formation of NuCo West Street Garage (Normanton) Holdings Ltd, which has now completed the purchase of the business.

The deal structure demonstrates a strong commitment, with the directors investing a third of the purchase price themselves. The business is already generating stable returns, and with their growth plans, we are confident the garage will continue to thrive for years to come.”

West Street Garage will continue to operate from its site at 87 Queens Street, Normanton, WF6 1AF.
